Day 137: It was just too much for him

They called him a hero when he killed someone he never met.
They called him a coward when he killed himself.

There is a strange indifference between that.

I wonder if we really ever knew him.

"Why are you eating your finger nails?"
"I want something else besides regret to eat at me. I figur' I'm good enough for that at least, kinda makes me good for something."

Makes you think how deep scars go.

I wonder how far he carried his pack alone.

I guess it is weird when someone dies on a battlefield 6,000 miles away from combat.
